On December 15, 2022, Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency issued new regulatory updates related to food pesticides on “Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2022-23, Florpyrauxifen-benzyl”.
The document summarizes the following key points:
- The proposed maximum residue limits have been evaluated for the following food commodities in or on root and tuber vegetables, fat and meat of cattle, goats, hazelnuts, milk;
- The MRLs are established for Animal Meat byproducts at 0.6ppm, cereal grains, oilseeds, legumes vegetables, etc. at 0.02ppm;
- Dietary risks from the consumption of these foods are found to be acceptable when used according to the supported label directions;
- Foods containing residues are safe for consumption with no adverse effect on human health.
The public consultation period is valid until 75 days from the date of Publishing.
