Canada Proposes Maximum Residue Limit on Flupyradifurone on Mustard Seeds

On October 10, 2024, the Health Canada issued a draft regulation on the “Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2024-22, Flupyradifurone”.

The document highlights the following points:

  • Maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.03 ppm is proposed for the condiment-type mustard seeds;
  • An existing MRL of 0.03 ppm for oilseed-type mustard seeds is already established;
  • No tolerances for Flupyradifurone are established in the U.S. or by Codex for the same commodities;
  • Acute and chronic dietary exposure study indicates no risks to the general population.

The consultation is open for comments till December 24, 2024.
