On July 20, 2023, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) issued a draft regulation on “Proposed Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticide Azoxystrobin” per the Pest Control Products Act.
The document indicates the following points for consideration:
- The MRLs to be established on the Imported Sugar beets;
- To increase the MRL for Azoxystrobin from 0.5 ppm to 5.0 ppm;
- The changes would not affect registered Canadian labels;
- The scientific study ensures that foods containing residues are safe for consumption.
The consultation period for public comments is valid until October 03, 2023.
