On December 10, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China announced the “Green Factory Assessment Requirements for Dairy Industry.”
Green Factory refers to the intensive use of land, harmless raw materials, clean production, waste recycling, and low-carbon energy. It refers to life cycle process, it meets the requirements of environmental protection, is harmless to the ecological environment and human health, consumes less resources and energy, and is a high-quality product.
The draft consultation provides the following technical information by definition and operations and evaluation systems:
- Framework of Green Factory evaluation system for the dairy industry.
- Evaluation and compliance requirement methodologies with an assessment report.
The scoring system is evaluated on a scale of 100. Industries that meet the score system of 85 points or more (including 85 points) meet the green factory evaluation requirements. The scoring method of green factory evaluation index in the dairy industry is reported in Appendix B of the document.
The draft is open for public consultation until January 10, 2021.
