China Publishes Various National Food Safety Standards and Amendments

On October 13, 2020, the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation announced the release of 38 National Food Safety Standards and 4 Amendments along with the new edition of “National Food Safety Standard for Food Flavours” (GB 30616 2020).

The Scientific committee approved the standards in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People’s of Republic of China. All the standards have been provided with the GB Standard numbers and the list includes Food Additives, Nutrition Enhancers, Microbial Tests, Food Contact Materials and Amendments are listed as follows:

1. GB 29938-2020 National Food Safety Standard General Rules for Food Spices
2. GB 1886.69-2016 "National Food Safety Standard Food Additive Aspartame Acesulfame" No. 1 amendment
3. GB 1903.49-2020 National Food Safety Standard Food Nutrition Enhancer Zinc Citrate
4. GB 4789.29-2020 National Food Safety Standard Food Microbiological Test Burkholderia Gladiolus (Pseudomonas Cocotoxin Subspecies)
