On October 25th, 2023, the Codex Alimentarius published the regional standards for the “Unrefined Shea Butter 2022”.
The scope of the standard summarizes the following points:
- Intended for direct consumption or as an ingredient in the manufacture of food products;
- The “Country of Origin” under section 7.1 has been corrected for its text;
- Section 7.2 on Labelling of non-retail containers shall comply with the “General Standard for the Labelling of Non-Retail Container of Foods (CXS 346-2021)”.
