Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of technical support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 when it was released on October 22, 2009.
This 10-year period has now ended, and Microsoft has discontinued the support, to focus on newer technologies and new experiences. The specific day of the end of support for Windows 7 was 14th January 2020.
Microsoft strongly recommends upgrading to Windows 10 to avoid, in case of need, that assistance or support are no more available.
What does the end of support mean to me?
After January 14, 2020, PCs running Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008-based servers will no longer receive security updates. Therefore, it is important to upgrade to a modern operating system, such as Windows 10 for client installations and Windows Server 2012 for server installations, which can provide the latest updates to keep your data more secure.
For the moment Trace One will continue to support these operating systems, but we strongly recommend that you organize quickly the migration, in order to benefit from updates and new features in a stable and secure environment.
