EU Amends Regulation No 10/2011 on Food Contact Plastic Materials

On January 31, 2019, the new amendment “Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/37 of 10 January 2019 amending and correcting Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food (Text with EEA relevance.)“ will come into force.

The European Commission published the new rules on January 11, 2019 and established the following main changes:

• Replacing the entries on Food Contact Material (FCM) substances No. 467, 744, 1066 and 1068, reported in Annex I, Table 1
• Addition of new entries for FCM substance No 1059, 1067, 1069 (Annex I, Table 1), No. 35 (Annex I, Table 2) and No 27 (Annex I, Table 3).
