EU Modifies the Existing Maximum Residue Limits for Clopyralid in Honey

On January 17th, 2024, the European Food Safety Authority published a regulation on the “Modification of the Existing Maximum Residue Level for Clopyralid in Honey” per Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005.
The scientific document highlights the following points:
- Various analytical methods for enforcement are available to control the residues of clopyralid;
- The maximum residue limit has been set at 0.001 mg/kg in honey;
- Short‐term and long‐term intake of residues resulting from Clopyralid on Oilseed rape is pose no health risk on consumption.
