Consultations: what?
The public consultation is a step in the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) process that lasts 60 days, during which interested parties are invited to comment on the hazard classes for which data were provided in the CLH dossier. During the consultation, the comments received are published on ECHA's website. Once the consultation is closed, all comments and annexes received are compiled and forwarded to the dossier submitter, inviting them to provide their response to the comments (RCOM). Compiled comments and non-confidential annexes are also published on the website at this stage.
Consultations: which substances?
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) invites comments on proposals for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) for certain substances.
- Finland has submitted a proposal for the substance 5-methylhexan-2-one; isoamyl methyl ketone (EC 203-737-8, CAS 110-12-3). Currently classified as Flam. Liq. 3, H226 and Acute Tox. 4*, H332; the proposal suggests adding the classification Repr. 2, H361d and remove classification Acute Tox. 4, H332. The hazard classes open for comment are acute toxicity and reproductive toxicity.
- France has proposed a new classification for the substance 2-[(1R,6R)-3-methyl-6-prop-1-en-2-ylcyclohex-2-en-1-yl]-5-pentylbenzene-1,3-diol; cannabidiol (EC -, CAS 13956-29-1). The proposal calls for classification as Repr. 1B, H360FD and Lact., H362. Consultation is open for reproductive toxicity.
