Harmonised classification: substance proposals
The Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC), which draws up ECHA’s opinions related to the risks of substances to human health and the environment in the REACH and CLP processes, has published on ECHA website the Harmonised classifications that have been proposed for the following substances:
- “Tincalconite (B4Na2O7.5H2O)” (EC 601-708-8, CAS 12045-88-4), “Ulexite (CaNaH12(BO3)5.2H2O); Ulexite (CaNaH12(BO3)5.2H2O), calcined” and “Colemanite (CaH(BO2)3.2H2O); Boron calcium oxide (B6Ca2O11), hydrate (1:5);Colemanite, calcined”: For these three entries, Sweden has proposed the following Harmonised classification: 1B, H360FD and Note 11.
- 4,4'-methylenediphenol (EC 210-658-2, CAS 620-92-8): Sweden proposed the following hazard classification: Repr. 1B, H360F.
Harmonised classification: public consultation
Public consultation has been opened by the ECHA for benzobicyclon (ISO); 3-[2-chloro-4-(methylsulfonyl)benzoyl]-4-(phenylthio)bicyclo[3.2.1]oct-3-en-2-one (CAS 156963-66-5) and the undecafluorohexanoic acid and many of its inorganic salts (EC 206-196-6, CAS 307-24-4; EC 220-881-7, CAS 2923-26-4; EC 244-479-6, 21615-47-4).
- Malta proposed to include benzobicyclon (ISO) in Annex VI with the following Harmonised classification: Aquatic Acute 1, H400, M-factor=100; Aquatic Chronic 1, H410, M-factor=100. However, many other hazard classes are open for commenting, such as Explosives, Acute Toxicity, Carcinogenicity and Hazardous to the Ozone layer.
- Regarding undecafluorohexanoic acid, the proposal advanced by Germany foresees the inclusion in Annex VI with a harmonized classification as Repr. 1B, H360D. However, Reproductive toxicity and STOT RE classification are still open for commenting.
