The 18th ATP of CLP
On March 3rd 2022, the European Commission published on the Official Journal of the European Union the regulation (UE) n. 2022/692, also known as the 18th ATP amending Reg. 1272/2008 (the European implementation of the GHS standard).
The 18th ATP updates Annex VI to CLP by adding 39 harmonised substances, deleting one and changing the classification of 17 substances already incuded in the Annex.
Among other changes, we remark the:
- Introduction of the harmonized classification for Melamine (CAS 108-78-1, EC 203-615-4) as Carc. 2, H351 and STOT RE 2, H373 (urinary tract)
- Addition of the classification as Aquatic Acute 1, H400 and Aquatic Chronic 1, H410 (M=10) to the preexisting harmonized classification for Bisphenol A (CAS 80-05-7, EC 201-245-8)
- Modification of multiplicative factors for environmental hazard classifications for various substances
- Introduction of the harmonized classification for Bisphenol S (CAS 80-09-1, EC 201-250-5) as Repr. 1B, H360FD
When ATP 18 takes effect?
The amendments to Annex VI brought by the 18th ATP are binding from December 1st 2023.
The update related to 18th ATP is already available for the Trace One (previously known as Trace One) suites.
