European Union Latest Food Alerts and Recalls

On July 23 and 24, 2019, the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) of the European Union (EU) has notified new food recalls affecting multiple food categories.
The substances involved are the following, among others:
- Aflatoxins detected in mixed nuts from Turkey (2658), organic peanut butter from the Netherlands, with raw material from Germany (2019.2663) and groundnuts from Egypt (2019.2669).
- Salmonella in shelled almonds from the United States (2676), sesame seeds from Sudan (2019.2675) and rapeseed meal from Germany (2019.2674)
- Listeria monocytogenes in guacamole from Belgium (2677)
