FSANZ Amends Maximum Residue Limits for Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals

On December 11, 2024, the Federal Register of Legislation of Food Standards Australia and New Zealand Code revised “Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for agricultural and veterinary chemicals” for Schedule 20, Instrument No. APVMA 5, 2024.
The regulation highlights the following points:
- An increase in Chloridazon MRLs for beetroot from 0.05 mg/kg to 0.5 mg/kg;
- Temporary maximum residue limit for Fipronil is set for maize cereals at 0.01 mg/kg;
- Limits established for Florylpicoxamid in bananas at 0.5 mg/kg;
- Fluralaner limits for cattle products were revised at 0.25 mg/kg for edible offal (except kidney, liver), 0.7 mg/kg for fat, 0.25 mg/kg for kidney, 0.6 mg/kg for liver and 0.07 mg/kg for muscle.
