On September 20, 2019, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued the “Imported Food Control Order 2019.”
The instrument provides definitions of risk food, compliance agreement food and surveillance food. Moreover, food commodities that require to be inspected, or inspected and analyzed, are listed, e.g. raw milk cheese and cheese in which growth of Listeria monocytogenes can occur. Finally, risk food products that are New Zealand products are also mentioned.
The new provisions have immediate effect.
