GCC Issues New Drafts of Standard on Essential Nutrients in Food

On June 16, 2020, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has published the "Draft of Standard DS GSO 05/02/DS/GSO 1069:2020 GSO 1069:2002 General Principles for the Addition of essential nutrients to Foods."
The principles of the document apply to all foods to which essential nutrients are added. Essential nutrients are defined as "any substance normally consumed as a constituent of food which is needed for growth and development and the maintenance of healthy life and which cannot be synthesized in adequate amounts by the body."
The last date for comment of the draft is June 24, 2020.
