GCC Releases the Draft Standard on Flavored Drinks

On June 18, 2019, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued the draft standard on “Flavored drink”.
The scope of the document refers to non-carbonated flavored drinks, defined as “Non-carbonated syrup from water and sugar, with one or more artificial or natural flavorings and additives mentioned in (4.4) and (5.4). Fruit juice (concentrates or non-concentrates) and/or edible parts of mature fruits (Sound) by less than 10%.”
The draft also outlines requirements to be met, rules on packaging, transportation and storage, and labelling information to be declared.
