On August 2, 2018, the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India Gazette notified Fortification of Foods Regulation 2018. This regulation will be called Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Regulations, 2018.
According to the regulation, all food business operators (FBO) that manufacture and the process fortified food products shall carry the +F logo on their label. This includes products that are currently registered and licensed. FBO’s shall complete the +F logo endorsement by December 31, 2018.
The website of the Food Fortification Resource Centre (FFRC), in order to simplify the process of +F logo registrations, has integrated within the existing Food Licensing & Registration System, where the FBO’s will be able to endorse their fortified products and obtain a file of the +F logo.
