Japan Issues Cabinet Office Ordinance on Food Labelling

On March 05, 2020, the Consumers Affairs Agency (CAA)(消費者庁) of Japan released has released a Cabinet Office Ordinance on labelling matters with an important effect on the safety of food intake.
Among others, the document addresses specifications on allergens prescribed in Article 6, paragraph 8 of the Food Labeling Act, expiration dates and whether food is heated or not.
The Cabinet Office Ordinance comes into force from the date of publication.
