On April 1, 2019, Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) published a new draft regarding specifications on Edible Ices: "GSO 05 DS 457:2019 Edible ices"
The document introduces the definitions of food ice cream, cream-like ice products, sorbet, water ice cream, food ice cream mixtures and mixtures for the preparation of food ice cream, dried and concentrated. Moreover, specific requirements for components, natural flavors, natural sugars, additives, contaminants, microbiological requirements, packaging, transport and storage are all set.
The last date of comments is set to May 29, 2019.
