On August 24th, 2023 the Singapore food agency issued a guide on the “Food Labelling and Advertisements” to allow the food business operators to comply with the provisions of the sale of food in Singapore.
The document highlights the following key points:
- To ensure the sale of food for consumption is safe for public health;
- Includes a checklist to self-check the food labels and advertisements before sale/publication;
- Prepacked food products must be labeled according to the general labeling requirements of the food regulations;
- Penalties for non-compliance would strictly apply as per the Sale of Food Acts and Food Regulations.
