On August 18, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration of Taiwan published the amendment “Standards for specification, scope, application and limitation of food additives” on Appendix 1 of Article 2.
The document highlights the following key points:
- Categories such as Antioxidants, leavening agents, nutritional additives, colors, flavoring agents, carriers etc. are amended.
- The term “All foods” in the given categories does not include fresh milk and sterilized milk.
- Maximum levels of flavouring agents naturally presented in beverages shall not exceed the permissible limits as indicated in the table.
The regulation is effective from August 18, 2021.
