On September 6th, 2024, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration published “Guidelines for manufacturers of peanuts and their products” to comply with the Good Food Hygiene Practice.
The document highlights the following points:
- Ensure products are free from contaminants and pests by controlling moisture and adhering to strict temperature criteria;
- Maintain factory cleanliness and hygiene guidelines to prevent cross-contamination;
- Store in controlled environments with clean, undamaged packaging and proper labeling, including expiration dates and allergens;
- Peanut raw materials and peanut products are recommended to be transported at low temperature;
- These guidelines apply to all foods containing peanuts and peanut products, including items like peanut butter and candy.
