Turkey Amendment on the Food Codex Regulation

On January 31st, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry published an amendment to the "Turkish Food Codex Regulation”.
The scope of the document includes the following key points:
- In determining whether the substances not permitted by the horizontal or vertical food codex have been added to a food product within the scope;
- Giving the impression of Lemon juice, lemon-flavored sauce, Lemon juice-like products with sauce, lemon sauce, and similar names cannot be placed on the market;
- Products that are not allowed cannot be placed in the domestic market after December 31st, 2024.
The amendment shall enter into force on January 31st, 2024.
