United States To Update Veterinary Drugs Tolerance Levels

On July 11, 2019, a new final rule was issued in the Federal Register to revise and clarify the relevant regulation on the approved animal drugs:"New Animal Drugs; Updating Tolerances for Residues of New Animal Drugs in Food.“
With this document, the purpose of the FDA is the following:
- Revising the definitions of key term of the regulation;
- Defining the conditions of tolerance to ensure the safety of veterinary drug use in food-producing animals;
- Providing a uniform list of tolerances in 21 CFR part 556, subpart B, by avoiding confusion and obsolete references to the conditions of use of animal drugs;
The regulation will enter into force on September 09, 2019.
