On January 19th, 2022, the U.S Federal Register published an article by the U.S environmental protection agency on “Ethaboxam; Pesticide Tolerances, 40 CFR 180.622, 87 FR 2725”.
The scope of the document is herein summarized:
- The residues of ethaboxam are applicable in or on Brassica, leafy greens, subgroup 4–16B and Vegetable, Brassica, head, and stem, group 5–16;
- Pesticide tolerances are established for residues of Ethaboxam in or on Brassica, leafy greens, subgroup 4–16B at 7 ppm and Vegetable, Brassica, head, and stem, group 5–16 at 3 ppm;
- Risk assessment data ensures the safety of infants and the general population is adequately protected based on the Toxicological profile and dietary exposure;
- Short‐term and long‐term intake of residues resulting from the use of tolerance on these food products is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
The regulation is effective from January 19th, 2022.
