On January 11th, 2022, the U.S Federal Register published an article by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency on “Trifloxystrobin; Pesticide Tolerance, 40 CFR 180.555, 87 FR 1363”.
The scope of the document summarizes the following:
- The residues of Trifloxystrobin including its metabolites and degradates are applicable, in or on Currants, Edible-Podded Legume Vegetables, Succulent Shelled Pea and Bean, Cranberry, Small Fruit, Edible Peel, etc;
- Pesticide tolerances are established for Cranberry at 2 parts per million (ppm), Currants at 3 ppm, Pea and bean, succulent shelled at 0.2 ppm, small fruit, edible peel at 0.3 ppm, etc;
- The data ensures the safety of infants and children is adequately protected based on a Toxicological profile and dietary exposure;
- Short‐term and long‐term intake of residues resulting from the use of tolerance on these food products is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
The regulation is effective from January 11th, 2022.
