US Establishes Maximum Residues Limits for Pesticide Pyridate

On May 25th, 2022, the U.S Federal Register published an article by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency on “Pyridate; Pesticide Tolerances, 40 CFR 180.462, 87 FR 31738”.
The document summarizes the following:
- The tolerance of residues of Pyridate is applied to the following food commodities such as lentils, dry, seed, and rapeseed subgroup 20A;
- The established levels of this pesticide in or on lentils, dry, seed is 0.4 ppm and rapeseed subgroup 20A is 0.05 ppm;
- Dietary exposure and risk assessments studies ensure the safety of infants and the general population;
- Short‐term and long‐term intake of residues resulting from the use of tolerance on these food products is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
The regulation is effective from May 25th, 2022.
