On October 7, 2024, the US Federal Register published a regulation on the “Tolerance for residues of Flazasulfuron on Avocado - 40 CFR Part 180”.
The scope of the document are as follows:
- Tolerance for Flazasulfuron residues on Avocados is 0.01 ppm;
- No maximum residue limits (MRLs) have been established by Codex or Canada, aligning U.S. tolerances with international standards;
- EPA finds its aggregate exposure is safe for the general population, including infants and children and classifies it as "not likely to be carcinogenic”;
- Objections and requests for hearings must be submitted by December 6, 2024;
This regulation is effective as of October 7, 2024.
