On May 10, 2023, the U.S Federal Register published regulations by the U.S environmental protection agency on “Cyflufenamid; Pesticide Tolerance, 40 CFR” and “Fomesafen; Pesticide Tolerances, 40 CFR”.
The regulations indicate the following points for consideration:
- The tolerance limit of Cyflufenamid is applicable on Sugar beet;
- Maximum residue limit is established for Beet, sugar, roots at 0.15 ppm;
- Fomesafen residual limit has been approved on vegetable bulb groups at 0.02ppm;
- The toxicological and dietary exposure studies ensure the safety of infants and children;
- Short‐term and long‐term intake of residues is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
The regulation is effective for Cyflufenamid from May 10, 2023, and Fomesafen from May 09, 2023.
